Baldur's Gate 2 Review
October 22, 2000

Content

It is humorous at many times, as Volothamp and the famous old wizard, Elminster make comments on various things throughout the manual, usually trying to out-do eachother. A favorite of mine is:

Volo: I have heard these monsters will suck the brain right from a person's head!
Elminster: Then, Volo, you should be safe enough.

Not only is it humourous, but extremely informative as well. Though it doesn't contain all of the monsters as not to spoil discovering them on your own, it does contain each and every spell of Baldur's Gate II (107 pages of the manual are dedicated to spells alone!), covering their range, casting time, duration, area of affect, saving throw, and giving a thorough description.

The manual also covers all of the races, classes, and kits available in Baldur's Gate II as well as explains any special abilities that certain class or kit may have, such as Called Shot for the Archer (a Ranger kit) or the Kai ability for the Kensai (a fighter kit).
