Raven Software is one of the most popular, most well-respected of game development houses. Having created titles such as the Hexen and Heretic series, as well as the controversal Soldier of Fortune, Raven has been a major contributor to the FPS and Action genres. Their latest title, Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force (henceforth known simply as "Elite Force"), puts you, the player, in the role of one of the members of Voyager's Hazard Team, a highly-trained group of people who specialize in away missions that "ordinary" away teams just can't handle. Why would Raven want to chance their lofty reputation with a game based on Star Trek? We know that nearly all Trek games have either been poorly conceived, or just plain sucked. What Raven must have realized is it isn't the license, but the group developing the game based on that license, that decides whether the game goes to the Hall of Fame or the Wall of Shame (U.S. Patents Pending).
